POTTY TRAINED

Everyone do a little Happy Dance. Jace is officially potty trained. We have been putting him in underwear for over a month now and for the first 2 weeks he would have about 1 accident per day. But the last 2 weeks have been accident free. YIPPI! And his pull-up is bone dry most mornings.

I am so proud of my little man. Now I am working (again) on getting rid of the sippy cup. He was really good for a while about using a regular cup, but he seemed to revert for some reason.

Jace is just over 2 1/2, he is 33 lbs, 37 in, still wearing 24 mo/2T clothes and his pants fall down because he has no butt, wears a size 9-10 in a shoe, sleeps in a twin size bed. I think that covers all the milestones from the last few months.

Sleeping Babes are a wonderful thing

Moments like this remind me that being a Mommy is the best job there is.

Jace had threw a cup of water all over me while taking a bath last night, so he was quicly washed, dryed and put straight to bed. He was asleep before the story was even over. Hard to be mad at him for throwing a cup of water when I see that sweet little face.

He has taken to sleeping to sleeping in the guest bedroom in our queen size bed. Boy do they grow up way to fast.

Pittsburgh Day One

The fountain between PNC Park and Heinz Field
Our original plan was to meet up with my sister and her girls at the Pittsburgh Zoo. She got to Pittsburgh about 30 minutes before we did and said it was pouring so we decided to just go the Children's Museum instead. It was a blast.
Mr. Roger's Couch
In their 'arts room' kids can make paper, screen printing, sewing, painting, transfers and who knows what I missed. Jace loved cutting with scissors. Then there is Mr. Rogers neighborhood. Thave it all! The sweaters, shoes, trolley, puppets, couch, traffic light. The kids had a blast and we did to. After that we went to 'the attic'. I am not really sure how to explain that one. There is a 'crooked' room, a super fast slide, different light tricks and all sorts of other gadgets. After the attic is the 'garage'. There is a giant version of Mouse Trap in there, a work shop, a PT cruiser and other things. Then it was off to Bob the Builder. Jace loved that room. He got on all the machines and tried to fix the sink. We skipped the waterworks.

After spending our day at the museum we headed to our hotel to check in. After having dinner we decided to go walk the river and try to wear the kids out. Yeah right. They were still wound for sound when we got back to the room so we went swimming. Then we heard the storms and went back to the room. We watched the news has they had tornado warnings/watches and flooding. Pittsburgh got something like 4 inches of rain in about 3 hours. Crazy. The hotel lost power (we didn't thanks to generators) and the fire alarms went off in some areas.

Cruisin'

Jace got a new ride a couple of weeks ago and he is on it every chance he gets. He is great at steering and staying on the sidewalks with it.

It even has a 'power boost' button on it that will allow it to do burnouts and go 'extra' fast. Luckily it can be disabled and until he is a little older we have taken advantage of that option.

So Jace is going HOG wild this summer. LOL

CIRCUS

We took Jace to the circus yesterday. And let me just say that the circus is not what it used to be. It was more of a musical in my opinion. But, Jace seemed to like it all that is all that matters to me.

First we went outside and 'met' the animals. Jace was asking all day to see the elephants and he was duly impressed when he saw the elephants eating apples. It was actually what he talked abou the rest of the day. It is hilarious to hear him say it too.

After meeting the animals we headed inside to go down to the circus floor and meet the performers. Jace wasn't exactly sure what to think of all the crazy people. But he did good, he never cried or hid his face. He just stared at them in complete and utter awe.

Then we headed up the suite to watch the show. Jace was completely mesmerized for about the first 45 minutes. He didn't take his eyes of the ring and didn't even touch his kid's meal. He did really well and being in the suite helped because he could get up and move around. About the last 20 minutes he was done and I went with him to let him run the halls.
Overall it was a good day and Jace seemed to enjoy it.

Visiting the Folks

Brain Freeze

We spent the weekend in Pennsylvania visiting my family and celebrating my niece's 3rd birthday. Jace loves going to Grammy and Pappy's house and getting into all sorts of mischief with Pappy (and with just himself)

Here are some pictures from our trip.

Riding the Lawn Mower
Pappy's Shadow
After his bath, he wasn't done playing
Enjoying a fudge cicle with his cousins

When we got back on Sunday I decided to recover my dining room chairs as I want to sell the set and thought it might be easier with new covers.

I am pretty proud of myself, what do you think?

Jace was being a ham after his bath last night. You can't help but love this kid.

What we have been doing

Life has been busy now that the weather is getting nicer. Once Jace is outside good luck getting him to come back inside.

We had the trees in our back yard taken down and the stumps ground out. That makes a huge mess, but Brent is going to use all the chips to help fill in the 'playground area'. And since the trees came down so did my clothes line. My first and only request was that Brent get me lines built asap so I didn't miss out on the perfect weather we had last weekend. I was able to get 5 loads of laundry hung and dried in one day.

Please ignore the bathing suit. We had swim class this weekend.

I also helped Jace work on some crafts. Of course the lady at Home Depot obviously didn't know what she was talking about and the white paint bubbled off the pots so they are ruined and we have to start all over. Mother's Day gifts might be late this year.

And Jace decided he was going to treat the yard. I swear every tool that Brent has Jace also has. Of course the same can be said for inside the house as well.
Tonight we are off to Pennsylvania to visit family and celebrate my niece's 3rd birthday. Talk to everyone when we return.

MS Walk

Walk MS 2009 took place this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. We had a blast. There were over 2000 at the zoo at 7:30 in the morning. Being anywhere at 7:30 on a Saturday takes dedication.
Below are some pics that I was able to get. I need to my mom's memory card and see what she was able to get.

We had a blast and raised over $1700. A huge success in my book. The Pennsylvania section of our team walked on Sunday at Penn State and I will get their pics loaded as soon as I get them downloaded.
Thank You to everyone who donated.

New Toy

So Brent found a very nice set of GE washer and dryer on sale (discontinued models) at Lowe's last night. And of course we bought them and the pedastools for them. We were just going to stack them, but when the guy said he would sell us the $400 pedastools for $148 I just couldn't refuse.

Here they are in all their glory.
Now I have to go buy High Efficiency detergent for them so I can get some laundry done this weekend. I can not go the weekend without doing laundry. I also have to clean up the old washer and dryer and get them posted on craigslist.

Easter

Easter was fun, but boy was it busy. We had breakfast at home and then we were off to see Brents family and have a late lunch.

The Easter Bunny was very good to Jace. He got 4 books, regular crayons and window crayons, silly putty, sidewalk chalk, and a chocolate bunny.
Here is Jace hunting for eggs. He had a blast and totally got the concept. He was too funny shaking all the eggs to see if there was anything inside.
Jace also got to spend some time with his big brother which he loves to do. Dylan is great with Jace. They love each other.

Coloring Eggs

I am one of those brave soles who colors Easter eggs with a toddler. This is his second year coloring eggs and he thoroughly enjoys every minute of it.
We used the dye, the wrappers, puff paint and stickers to decorate the eggs.

We had the toothpicks out to unclog the puff paints and he decided to chew on one. He is such a redneck.

And lastly our finished products.

Aren't they the prettiest eggs you have ever seen. And can you guess which ones Jace decorated?

I am sure the Easter Bunny will have a blast hiding our eggs this year.
